When it comes to organic foods, it is important to know that not just anyone can make organic foods. There are strict standards. Foods and organic food companies that are certified by the Quality Assurance International group (QAI) must undergo rigorous tests and meet very high standards.

Organic foods are grown without the use of irradiation, bioengineering or pesticides. Meat products are raised without antibiotics or hormones.

Products with 95% organic ingredients can use the word "organic". Both may also display the SDA organic seal. A third category,containing a minimum of 70% organic ingredients, can be labeled
"made with organic ingredients".

For one, natural and organic food certainly now means very big business, with producer networks extending from Argentina to Calgary to California and beyond, with tens of thousands of retail outlets, and a market value estimated at $11 billion. No other food segment grows sales as quickly as organic food.

Those who favor importing organic food point out that an organic farm shop will only have seasonal foods, which severely limit the choices consumers have when preparing meals.

Eating higher quality food on the surface seems easy. No junk food, right. That's not enough anymore we must have more information because the quality of the food we are eating is at an all time low.

Despite the increased nutritional value of organic foods, there are some cons to consuming organic foods. Manure used in organic compost may be more harmful than the health risks related to pesticides and chemicals used on non-organic farms. Manure often contains E.

Be aware that not all organic foods are created equal; the organic label has been greatly compromised in recent years. Consequently, you have to be very leery of major super centers and supermarkets which have been adding their compromised version of organic foods to their shelves.

Since natural means are utilised to make organically grown food, small amounts of energy is employed. Organic food wants simple packaging and collection of waste is reduced. Genetically changed plants and animals are non-organic species which can genetically spoil the naturally arising organic ones.

A lot of people turn to eat raw foods because they would taste better. Plus, many farmers do not use harmful chemicals when they plant. Thus, it helps in eliminating pollutions making the environment safer to live in.

One of the best things you can do for your body is to eat at least twelve servings of fresh, organic fruits and vegetables every single day. By eating the certified organic versions of these foods you will benefit from their energy-boosting power even more than eating inorganic.
