Healthy Hair Program - An Overview

When it comes down to it, healthy hair isn't the result of what you put on it but rather of what you feed it with. We all know lathering & rinsing a couple of times is the regular procedure for washing your hair but shampoo and conditioner alone won't give you the healthy hair you desire.

Healthy hair... everybody wants healthy hair. Full and rich in natural color healthy hair. But why can't we? The question is... what are you doing to have unhealthy hair? Well, to better answer that question one must first understand some basics of human hair.

To achieve and maintain a healthy head of hair, a daily diet should include proteins, minerals, vitamins, essential fatty acids and water.

Always comb your hair straight to prevent breakage and dry your hair before combing as wet hair is very weak and breaks of easily.

Your hair can have a buildup of products you use, smoke, dirt, or just plain environmental factors such as smog. These things will effect you having shiny healthy hair. Shampooing your hair too often can strip away the natural oils that are in your hair.

Dry, brittle, dull and thinning hair is often the result of a hormonal imbalance. This is especially obvious for women following childbirth and during menopause. Men and women both benefit tremendously from the transdermal use of bio-identical progesterone cream.

Foods for good hair include protein. Protein is essential for healthy hair. This is because hair itself is essentially made from a protein called keratin. So a diet that is rich in protein foods such as fish, chicken, lean meat, lentils, bean and nuts will give your body enough protein to grow hair.

Be watchful if you use spices: Spices are healthy, but only if you use them in adequate proportion. Some companies include lot of salt, chemicals, pepper and oregano in spices, which are detrimental for your hair.

Go Natural. If you have been having a badly damaged hair because of frequent hair coloring or perming, or excessive styling, do not seek treatment from another chemical-based solution. Probably the best way you can do is to rest your hair from all the chemical treatments and go natural.

Other foods that are good for healthy vibrant hair include: nuts, poultry, eggs, whole grains, oysters, and carrots. Nuts can help keep your hair from shedding and help it to remain shiny. Poultry provides protein for hair growth as well as promoting hair color.

There are a few things that can slow hair growth, such as excessive stress, smoking, and caffeine. You need to get plenty of rest to allow hair to grow. In addition, a weekly scalp massage can help stimulate hair follicles and you should avoid excessive heat, hot water and blow dryers.

Ground nut : Ground nut from Brazil is one of the best natural resources of selenium, a kind of important minerals for your healthy scalp. Walnut contains linoleum alpha acid and omega 3 to repair hair condition, while some foods like almond, cashew peanut, and pecans are the essential resources of zinc.

Using a hairstyle that does not need too many gels, hair straighteners or dryers is also quite advisable. If you are able to avoid these harmful things for some time, you will see that your hair will become quite healthy and luxuriant.
